Why I Am A Terrible Employee

Why I Am A Terrible Employee

In the world I see, I can’t believe that companies still give money to people for their time. The idea baffles me. The same companies that pay us by the hour expect results in that hour, so let’s just cut out the middleman and pay me for results. Let me contribute, improve the safety, build in efficiency or something that makes me feel valuable. If it is proven that money is a bad motivator, for me; trading Time for Money is even worse. The reason why most people are ready to trade their time for money is that they don’t recognize that, who they are is more important that what they do for a living. And therefore, what they are doing is much more valuable to the company they work for than how much they get paid to do it. In fact, don’t ever compare yourself with anyone in this world, because if you do, you are insulting yourself. The main reason I don’t want a job is because I came to realize that, who I’m is more important that what I will do in any job out there and that, no one will afford who I’m.

The reasons why I teach a lot

In his book why ‘A’ students work for ‘C’ students, Robert kiyosaki clearly explains that, the key to success in this new world is education. The problem is that the current school system is trapped in the tar pit of the Industrial Age. Unfortunately, going to school alone will not prepare you financially for a rapidly evolving and expanding world. Simply said, schools change too slowly, and the world is changing too rapidly. In the Industrial Age, all it took to be successful was the following two types of education:

  • Academic education: The ability to read, write, and solve basic mathematical problems.
  • Professional education: Education to earn money by being a productive member of society. For example, medical doctors go to medical school, lawyers go to law school, pilots go to flight school, chefs to go cooking school, and so on.

Despite the fact that, it is very important that you attain all those academic and professional education and therefore use that education to become a productive member of the society, Robert kiyosaki says, In the Information Age, we need the following three types of education:

  • Academic education
  • Professional education
  • Financial education

He also added that, regardless of which type of education the person can choose to pursue, they must be aware that, the true purpose of education is to grant a person the power to turn information into meaning and that, the power of that education is unleashed after you leave school, take a class, seminar, or read a book and begin applying your education. The problem is that, most people go to school to learn how to earn money, but only for themselves and their family in my opinion; this is why many of them end up being employees. Few people go to school to learn how to produce more and produce more for more people. While most people aspire to be employees of good paying companies, in my life with all the education I have, I aspire to be a giver, a giver of love, a giver of good vibes, a giver of strength and finally, a giver of happiness in other peoples’ lives. This may be one of the reasons why I teach a lot. What you might not know about me is that, my inner drive to grow and make an impression in the universe makes me happy and makes big things happen in my life. What you might also notice is that, the idea that in order to make money we are to punch a clock, do what the boss says all day, punch out and repeat for the majority of our life is dying. The idea is dying out because; people are becoming more financially educated and that, contract workers, freelancers and side gigs are embracing the change toward this modern business model.

I want to be rewarded for that greatness

This change is neither because of the Government through de-regulation nor because of internet. Though in reality internet helped, this change is coming about mostly like any other changes out there. This change comes because some people want it. While I may not be that sure if you also want it but, I’m definitely sure that I want it right now in my life because; in the world I see, having the freedom to create and make what I want, be effective and competent as much as I wish is very important. In other words, in my life I strive for greatness and I want to be rewarded for that greatness, a world that traditional employments will not provide it to me. That is why I hate being an employee

It also makes me a terrible employee

Another reason why I hate being an employee is that, the old business model of (employer-employee relationships) i.e. most employees are working under a non-motivating leader, for a steady wage that kills all of the positive natural energy that most of us have. In other words, as a certified professional banker, I don’t want my greatness or creativity killed. I want to go for broke, do my best, out work the lazy ones who do the same thing day in and day out. I want to feel alive when I work. I want to make change but not by standing at a bank teller cubicle. What I hate most about me is that, these drive to grow and make an impression to the world, makes me a great person but also, a terrible employee.

My perception of your ideal self

While I may not know your perception of who is your ideal self, in the world I see, your ideal self is being the person you desire to be. In addition, is that, as a person you are adapting and always changing, the person you are now will probably not be the person you are in ten years to come. In my reality world I see that, the guy who you are dreaming of becoming, the guy who lives the life of his or her dreams, the guy who lives in a life of zero fear, the guy who is comfortable with taking risks, the guy owning global companies, the guy who doesn’t worry about being out of money, the guy who enjoys travelling the world, the guy who is the center of attention. In the world I see, that is my perception of your ideal self.

People will automatically respond to that

In simple terms, the guy you visualize to be in your mind is who you truly are. This is why I always recommend that, rather than just be yourself; strive to be your ideal self. When you are fully without hesitations expressing and exposing yourself in the real business and social world, you are bringing that ideal self out of you and I can tell you, people will automatically respond to that.

Perception is everything

Your life doesn’t have to drastically change to be interesting… you just need to change your perception. It is why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. As I will explain it in details later, right now you just need to understand that people who perceive that, they are living in scarcity will miss opportunities even if they are there. In the world I see, the secret to a successful life is that whatever you perceive you will achieve. See yourself living in abundance of many ways of making a lot of money and you will also attract only that into your life.

Passion is everything

While the detailed discussion about passion may be out of scope of this book but the key to awakening, your passion lies in your perception, beliefs and mindset. This is also why in the business mindsets shifts phase of my business intelligence program (a program I recommend you should consider taking), I talk in details on how passion is very important to starting your own successful business, living the life of your design in general and how to incorporate it in your life if you want to be successful beyond your wildest dreams.

***Don’t switch jobs; start your own business ***

My advice to everyone I meet is don’t switch jobs; start your own business. But first, to make sure you don’t revert back to being an employee you will have to know and understand how Power, Control, Leverage, Productivity, Money and Freedom can work against you when you are an employee. This is why the rest of this book will concentrate of me introducing you to these six concepts, what are they, why they are important, and most importantly how being an employee can make them work against you and probably sabotages your level of success in business and life in general.  It is my belief that, when you are fully aware of how these core concepts can work against you when you are an employee, then just like me, you might change your perspective and start your own business. And that is what this book is all about.
