The Taoists understood that men and women are meant to\r\nbalance, as two opposite halves of a universal whole. This means that we need to\r\nrespect our differences and understand that it is natural to feel different and to be different. Without this awareness men and women are often at odds with one another. Many\r\nof our struggles in relationships come about because we expect each other to be the\r\nsame. I hear many people complain that their partner does not see things the way they\r\ndo, or does not do things the way they do. It is important not to fight and struggle with\r\nour differences but to make them work in our favor, creating balance and harmony. If we\r\nforget this truth we are easily upset and frustrated with the opposite sex. Yet, when we\r\nrespect this difference, love blossoms like a well nurtured garden. By learning to transform sperm into Chi,\r\nmen can become better lovers, more vibrant and youthful and are able to activate the\r\ncompassionate energy in the heart. For women, cultivating sexual energy is a way to\r\ntransform blood into Chi. Transforming sexual energy is directly related to the menstrual cycle.
